Author of Stripes of Strength, a children’s picture book inspired by my son, Kasyn, who was born with a rare birth defect called a laryngeal cleft. What began as our family’s journey through surgeries, hospital visits, and uncertainty became a story of resilience, courage, and hope.

As a single mom and first-time author, my mission is to raise awareness for rare medical conditions while helping children and families feel seen, represented, and empowered. Through Stripes of Strength, I hope to spark conversations about inclusion, kindness, and the strength that can be our differences.

Picture It Publishing is a local children’s book publishing company owned by Angie El-Zarad, author of If the Shoe Fits which is her first release. Signed copies are available at the market and she is excited to share it with families.

In addition to her own hardcover book, Angie currently offers a small selection of titles by other indie authors for variety and bundling options. These will be available while supplies last. Her booth also includes a fun interactive activity for kiddos, making it a welcoming stop for families with young readers.

Teachers, school librarians, and PTA members are encouraged to stop by and get information about booking an author visit for the upcoming school year.

Visitors are encouraged to join Angie’s email list to receive news and updates about upcoming books (two releasing later this year), sneak peeks, optional surveys, and more bookish fun!
